It is said in our
scriptures the punya ( blessings of `GOSAMRAKSHANA' is carried to about
seven generations. Here we are getting the opportunity to act and it may be
wise to do so.
Also the objective is to protect the local variety which are
hardy and presently on a rapid decreasing count.
This Goshala trust will help us
to Galvanize our efforts for their protection and increase of these native
breeds
We have this Goshala `in a 10acre land,' located in Thiruvallur district, Off Poondi reservoir, on way to Uthukotai
–thiruthani route in a place called Goonipalayam.
There are few acres of agriculture land in this land where we
propose to raise good fodder for the cows.
We propose to take care of the cows under Sadvidya Paripalana
trust which is already into giving valuable Krishna Yajur veda education to a
group of students. The Goshala wing of the trust is mooted here where we plan to run it with equal
participation of all willing donors.
Kindly see the site to know about sadvidyaparipalana trust http://www.sadvidyaparipalanatrust.org/

SOME NUGGETS FROM THE SCRIPTURES –
In
Garuda purana its written in the 4th chapter on Charity and Dharmic
acts `Garuda who is learned in Vedas worshipped Sriman Narayanan who is the
protector of the entire world and addressed him
`Paramatma,
tell me if a person does charity and good deeds with a pure heart what are the benefits
he will get? If the son’s and relatives will do the charity for him after death
what are the benefits he will get?
God
Tirumal lying on his snake bed tells Garuda the following …
`My
dear child! After the person dies whatever benefit he may get by some one doing
for him charity will not equal to he himself doing charity during his life time. That is why it
is better for one to do charity before his death.
The
good karmas and charity will grow like a fire fed by ghee.
The
Vaithirini Godanam is a important charity done by a holy man- which entails
giving charity of a cow to some one during his life time which will help him to
cross the dreadful `Vaithirini river peacefully. Our scriptures are replete
with details of how service to Gomatha is an important aspect of dharma and
punya karma. Let us all pitch in this noble act and save our souls and the
environment by serving the Gomatha
